Francesco Vezzelli Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro

Posted by Keith Wallace

It was time for a change, so last night, I decided to ignore the beer in my fridge and pair my beloved Phillies with Lambrusco.  And not just any Lambrusco.  This one is special.  And by special, I mean that this delightful wine even inspired David Moore of Moore Brothers Wine Company (New Jersey store) to do a little jig (fact!), which, in turn, inspired me to pick up a second bottle.   (I should have picked up a case!)

Francesco Vezzelli Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro “Rive dei Ciliegi is one of the more exciting new wines I’ve tried in awhile.  I even shared it with my wife (she’s a cocktail maven by nature and usually leaves the wines to me).  She loved it and (sadly) decided to help himself to more than one glass.  Indeed, I wanted it all.

But all is fine as this bottle can find it right across the river, and for $18.00 a bottle, I look forward to many more.  Perfect for all types of festive occasions, and,   presently, I’m thinking it’s going to pair terrifically with The World Series.
