Online Wine Tastings
Students are encouraged to pop open a bottle of wine during class if the bottle reflects the class theme, all the better! Afterward, we will open the floor to you and all attending students. You will be free to chat, talk about the wines you’ve tasted.
We are on the East Coast, so class times are listed in Eastern Standard Time. We will give everyone five minutes to get situated before we start the class.
Classes are a fun one-hour event designed for self-edification and are not professional wine certifications.
Invitations are sent out the morning of the class at 10 am. If you don’t get your invite, please check your spam!

National Wine School
The Online Wine School is available to you in partnership with the National Wine School (NWS). While NWS has offered a gauntlet of online material and coursework since 2007, it has always supplemented in-class education. As a result, the programs to be released are stand-alone and differ in significant ways from traditional wine courses. We love the NWS because its online wine courses are geared toward the entire wine trade. Their certifications are earned by winemakers, importers, wine traders, educators, start-up founders, and sommeliers.
These programs are part of the National Wine School’s professional certification programming. You can now earn your sommelier certification up to the master level online. Pricing is discounted between 50 to 75% –for the same program and certification– than through any other wine school or university. A significant amount of the intellectual property behind national sommelier certification is owned by Keith Wallace, the founder of the Wine School of Philadelphia.
This is the first time in history that students can earn a nationally recognized sommelier certification entirely online. The National Wine School underwrites our online wine certification programs. These online programs are run through their national testing centers in California and Delaware. Certifications currently available include L1, L2, L3, and L4. In many ways, this is the very first virtual wine school in America!
This is also the first time our students can take classes via the National Wine School’s site. Before offering online wine courses, NWS only worked with select colleges and universities to distribute asynchronous online content for educational use.
