Prince Michel of Virginia Cabernet Sauvignon NV

Posted by Keith Wallace

Sure, the wine was overoaked and a bit melodramatic, but it was, nonetheless, surprisingly tasty considering its provenance. Super-ripe raspberry fruit on the nose and deep aromas of coffee and vanilla lead the way to a palate full of big, brooding mocha notes, dark fruit on the mid-palate, and a finish that sings with chai-style Asian spices. This is a huge, silky, New World-style monster, but if that’s your thing, it hits all the right notes. More wine reviews here.
