Le Paradis 2010 Chinon

Posted by Keith Wallace

Cabernet Franc doesn’t get much play on the American wine market. Wines from the Loire Valley in France are also not very popular, either. Combine them, and you get… Chinon.

It’s a shame that no one in America drinks the wine since it’s the best value for elegant wine in the world. However, there is a movement to change that, and in the lead is winemaking consultant wunderkind Sam Harrop.  This wine is part of the  ‘Project Cabernet Franc’ that he is a part of in the Loire Valley.

All in all, this is an excellent start. It offers rich fruit and licorice accented with a beautifully herbal bouquet—nicely refined tannins on a delicate framework. Nicely done, and an extraordinary value.

  1. Sounds very appealing Jim !By the way: me9thode tnotidiarelle suits me well (Et Merde au CIVC!).Why can’t they design a decent label? Where is the logo with the pregnant woman? I do think that sipping sparkling wines makes clever babies.By the way, is Family Ferrand still running Che2teau de Ligre9? I loved their Cuve9e La Roche St Paul .
