Jean-Claude Thevenet et Fils 2006 St.-Veran Clos de l’Ermitage Cuvee Vieilles Vignes

Posted by Keith Wallace

A distinctive nose of wet riverbank stones with just the slightest citrus lift leads to a surprisingly generous mid-palate rich with lemon oil. That stoniness and minerality come back on the finish, bringing the wine back to almost exactly where it began. This would be a solid value at even $10 more. Drink now.

  1. Heritage Vineyards of Richwood, NJ (about 25 minutes outside Philly) is relatively new with the wine blog community and we were referred to you as a high-profile wine reviewer in the Philadelphia area. We just wanted to invite you to our “Walk in the Vineyard” event on July 12 and 13th (12pm-5pm). Sample great wines, talk with the winemakers, go on a hay wagon wine cellar tour, taste wines straight from the barrels, purchase award-winning wines, learn about Heritage Station vineyard and how grapes are grown. If you are more interested in a private wine tasting with a smaller group and more intimate setting we will also be more than happy to accommodate you. Reservations can be made by calling Rich Heritage at 856-589-4474. For our complete wine list please visit http://www.heritagestationwine.com. This summer we are featuring our fruit wines, specifically our Peach and Sugar Plum Wines, made with real Jersey Fresh Peaches and Plums, perfect for sipping on a summer’s night or pairing with light desserts.
