Everything here is just right. The wine is a beautiful deep garnet in the glass, and it shows vanilla and dark cherry on the nose. However, on the palate, it morphs into a fruity and rich powerhouse of chocolate, slightly bitter orange-peel, and rich dark fruit. The tannins are rather soft, but there’s enough acid to hold it all together. Excellent balance, great food wine. Perfect with lamb, stew, spicy sausage, and chunks of Parmigiano Reggiano.
