Punch Drunk Blanco

Serves approximately 20

  • 4 fresh stalks of lemongrass, rough chop
  • 3-in. piece of peeled ginger, rough chop
  • 2 large pineapples, cut into chunks
  • 1½ L. of tequila blanco
  • 92 oz. pineapple juice (or another tropical juice)
  • 2 bunches fresh mint
  • 4 lemons, 2 halved, 2 sliced into wheels.
  • 4 limes, 2 halved, 2 sliced into wheels.
  • 1/2 cup agave syrup
  • 2 bottles of good quality ginger ale

Place the pineapple chunks in a 2-gallon glass jar and cover with the tequila. Add the lemongrass, ginger, pineapple juice,  lemon halves , lime halves, and mint. A few hours before serving,  strain the juice, discarding the fruit and herbs. Sweeten with the agave syrup to taste and add the lemon and lime slices. Before serving, splash with the soda. Ladle the punch into tall glasses with plenty of  ice.

The Classic Paloma

  • 1 1/2 ounces Reposado Tequila
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • Grapefruit-flavored soda

Fill an 8-ounce glass with ice, add tequila and lime juice, and top off with soda.

Tequila Smash

  • 8 blueberries
  • 4 oz Blanco Tequila
  • 1 oz Luxardo Maraschino liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice

Muddle the  blueberries in the bottom of a shaker. Add the tequila, maraschino liqueur and lime juice to the shaker, fill with ice and shake several times. Strain the cocktail into two martini glasses filled with ice. Garnish serve with a  blueberry.

Smoke & Awe

  • 2 oz Añejo (or Reposado) Tequila
  • 1⁄2 oz Yellow Chartreuse
  • 2 dashes Chocolate bitters

Add the Tequila, Yellow Chartreuse and the bitters to the shaker, fill with ice and shake several times. Strain into a collins glass.

A lowlands Tequila with rustic and earthy flavors. . Veers toward green olive flavors in the finish.

2. Don Julio

A highlands Tequila with classic sweet and fresh herb notes. Black pepper and rich creaminess in the finish. 

Second Flight: Reposado

1. Cabo Wabo (Jalisco)

A Jalisco lowlands Tequila  that is peppery, herbal, waxy,  and floral.

2. Corralejo (Guanajuato)

A Guanajuato Tequila with  a saline and minty notes and a dry honey finish.
