You’ve been added to our list of folks who want to work in the wine trade. If you’ve been to the Wine School, you know you are in good company.
The wine trade in the Philly region is booming, and there are lots of jobs that need to be filled. BUT, we don’t want to get your hopes up too high. There are hundreds of new jobs, but there are also thousands of applicants.
We send out job notices to everyone on this list. BUT (there is always a but, right?) we are loyal to our students: we send out notices to graduates of our CORE & Advanced wine programs first.
Graduates of highly rated schools are first and foremost. Great wine schools make for great employees!
Sommelier certifications are standardized: whether the certificate comes from the Court of Master Sommeliers, the Wine & Spirits Education Trust, or the National Wine School, the accreditation is the same. What really makes the difference is the quality of the education. It’s the difference from attending Harvard and the University of New Mexico.
As a rule, we only recommend students who have gone to a top tier wine school with a SOMM rating of at least an 80%. For a list of the best wine schools in america, check out this site.
