This is classic, peppery California zinfandel, yet the blue fruits of the 7% Petit Sirah add an even greater sense of richness. The mid-palate isn’t nearly as sweet as the nose suggests, likely due to substantial tannins that need some time to mellow out. You don’t have to wait, though: An hour in the decanter will work just fine.
