This is a fresh and zesty style of red with lavender and fresh cranberry on the nose. Stone and crushed wildflowers are playfully entwined on the palate. The blend here is about equal shares of Syrah to Grenache.

Domaine Courtois is owned by the Jaume family, who own several great wineries in the Southern Rhone, including in Chateauneuf du Pape. This property is in Vinsobres, which is north of Seguret and Gigondas. It is rather cool and high in the hills for a Cote du Rhone.
