Italian wines are the dearly beloved of American connoisseurs. In fact, today there is more premium Italian wine consumed in the US than in the old country itself! In this class, we offer a gustatory map of the major wine regions, from Apulia to Chianti to the Piedmont. Importantly, this session will also highlight the Italian wines with the best quality-to-price ratios.

The marriage of wine and cheese is complementary like no other. In this special food and wine class, we introduce pairings that range from the solidly traditional to the whimsically offbeat. A wine class with delicious goudas, cheddars, and cows milk cheeses -- it's a perfect Saturday evening in the city for you and yours.

 Imagine two of the city's top wine professionals competing to create the perfect food & wine pairing... and all for you! We pit one of Philadelphia's top sommeliers against one of our wine educators. Attendees sample each of food & wine pairings, then choose the winner.

Past participants have included Christophe Tassan of Le Bec-Fin, Ryan Margolis of R2L, Christophe Guillot of Brasserie Perrier, Paul Rodriguez of Tinto, Marco Avigo of Penne, and Gary Vaynerchuk of Wine Library TV, among many others.

The art of food and wine pairing is a specialty  at the wine school. After all, we are the folks that created the two most popular food & wine classes in Philadelphia: the Sommelier Smackdown, and the Corked & Forked series of cooking classes.

In "Culinaria" we take the concept to a whole new level. In this class, you pair wine with a selection of dishes, all under the tutelage of one of our top sommeliers.  A rare treat for food and wine aficionados!
