Last-Minute Wine Gifts!

A Coravin!

I’ve been using my Coravin system for years and consider it essential for events, especially when I want to offer members a taste of a rare wine from the cellar. It’s also become standard equipment for my online sommelier students. While your use case might differ, it’s incredibly convenient for pouring a glass from an open bottle without committing to the whole thing. If you’re shopping for a sommelier—or an aspiring one—this is the gift I always recommend.

A Gift Certificate!

For anyone within 100 miles of the Wine School of Philadelphia, a gift certificate to the Wine School is the ultimate gift! Of course, we’re a bit biased, but it’s genuinely a fantastic choice. Our certificates never expire (we’ve had people redeem them from 15 years ago!), and you can schedule them to be sent exactly when and to whom you want. The only thing we ask? Make sure you give it to someone awesome!

Nebbiolo!

There are plenty of high-end wines to love, but for a gift, I recommend Nebbiolo. It’s a wine that carries a message, making it perfect for gifting. Especially when crafted in Barolo or Gattinara, Nebbiolo is made to age gracefully. It’s an imposing wine steeped in 18th-century tradition and rich history. As an Italian wine that is highly regarded by sommeliers and wine professionals alike, it symbolizes permanence, commitment, and respect. Plus, it’s undeniably delicious—so it has that going for it, too.
