Montinore 2009 Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley

Posted by Keith Wallace

Pinot Gris has found a home in Oregon. The grape has been much abused under its other name, Pinot Grigio. It’s wonderful to see a winemaker willing to embrace it, despite its questionable reputation as a tart (and simple) grape.

Marzipan and Granny Smith apples are followed by vibrant lemon and mineral. Light bodied and alive with a touch of white pepper.
