Garrigue and camphor on the nose and a finish of peppered beef jerky. In between, toasted spices and black fruit get busy, and a massive but elegant core of tannins take this all the way—excellent Sagrantino. Additional notes of creme brulee and melted licorice round out this beauty.

Cesarini Sartori are an old-school winemaker in umbria. Their flagship bottle is a passito, the classic straw wine. It’s a personal favorite dessert wine from central Italy.
