Sauvage notes of roses and resin lightened by strawberry and mint. The deeply steeped tannins cut into a concentration of tobacco and fennel. Managing that wonderful dance of Nebbiolo: intense and powerful, yet elegant and complex. Plenty of tar and iron in the finish as a savory note unfurls. The flavors are firm and well-integrated, but this wine would benefit from upwards of a decade in the cellar.
