Delille Cellars 2013 “D2” Columbia Valley

Delille Cellars’ D2 is a “must-try” wine. First, the history behind this bottle: The winery was one of the first to plant Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in Columbia Valley. Since the early nineties, bottles like this from Delille Cellars were the vanguard in showing that Columbia Valley is one of the top locations in the world to produce Bordeaux-style wines.

Complex aromas of burnt cedar, ocean air, and marjoram. The texture of the wine is broad and rich, with a taut edge of smooth tannins.  Flavors of anise and dried plum move into vanilla and cardamom. The finish opens into savory herbs and dark berries. Absolutely delicious.  Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with some Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
