If you are new to the study of wine — or simply new to the Wine School of Philadelphia — Wine 101 is the class for you. Here, you will experience each of the Wine School’s hallmarks: dispelling industry rumors, banishing popular wine myths, and delivering information in an easy-to-understand manner. Developed by a U.C. Davis winemaker and honed over ten years of teaching experience, it represents a singular view of wine education. Allow us to share it with you!

Wine 101
Wine 101 is a wildly popular wine tasting class.

Wine 101 is Awesome

You love this class. We know you do. There are weeks when there are more people on the waitlist than in the actual class.  What you probably don’t know is that teaching Wine 101 is the crucible through which all successful sommelier-instructors must pass through. Teaching this class is as close to a  guarantee of success that exists in the wine trade.

Of the eleven sommelier-instructors who have taught this class, two became restaurant critics; three wrote bestselling books, two become university professors, and one became a food and wine editor. And two still work for the school.
