The Luxury Wines of Bordeaux
A large part of Bordeaux lies along the rivers Gironde and Garonne, and the right bank lies to the north and right of the Dordogne River, which feeds into the Gironde. A portion of the region between the rivers is named Entre Deux Mers – literally, between two seas.
Many of the finest wine estates in the world are located in Aquitaine, but they account for only a small percentage of the 120,000 hectares of vines in the Gironde. The vines are thought to date back 2,000 years to when the Romans dominated the area.
In this class, we discover and taste a selection of classical Bordeaux wines from the cellar of the school’s founder.
