South African Luxury Wines -The Wine Tasting Class
Thursday, June 19 from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm
The first South African wines we tasted came shortly after the fall of apartheid. Even then, the potential was obvious—ancient soils, a Mediterranean climate, high elevations, and a wealth of old vines. A rare combination in any winegrowing region.
But it wasn’t until around 2010 that that potential truly began to take root. Today, names like Swartland, Walker Bay, and Paarl should be on every wine lover’s radar.
In this class, you’ll taste some of South Africa’s finest wines and explore what makes them stand out. We’ll cover the key regions, grape varieties, and essential facts that will bring you up to speed on one of the most exciting wine countries in the world.
