About your ticket

What is a Premium ticket?

Folks who have Premium tickets enjoy several white-glove services. First, is our Rescheduling Service, which allows tickektholder to reschedule any class up to ten minutes prior to the start time. Second, is our Premium Customer Service services, including phone and priority email support.

What is a Discount ticket?

We offer these tickets at an amazing discount. In exchange, you forfeit your right to reschedule for any reason whatsoever. For example, if you couldn't come to class because you were the world's last great hope of survival, you are still going to be out out luck if you bought discount tickets.

Discount ticket holders also have very limited customer support options. Customer service is only via email, and may take up to 2 business days. Premium ticket holders enjoy expedited phone and email service.

We strongly recommend purchasing premium tickets so you can have the luxury of contacting us or rescheduling for any reason: health, tragedy, weather, scheduling issues, or even plain ol' whimsy.

Discount tickets cannot be upgraded into Premium tickets after purchase, so make sure you really want the cheap tickets. Don't be the guy who buys discount tickets and then gets angry because he can't reschedule a class. That's very uncool.

A special note if you are pregnant and have discount tickets: pregnant women can attend our classes. Such wines notables as Janis Robinson and Andrea Immer both still went to classes while pregnant. If they can learn something about wine & enjoy themselves (without tasting) while pregnant, so can you!

Does the school mail out tickets?

We do not mail out tickets. You will automatically be added to the roster for the class when you purchase your seats.

Coming to a class

Can I bring food?

We ask that students not bring food into the school.

Is there food served during class?

Only if the class specifically states there is food served.

What is the appropriate attire?

Business casual is appropriate attire.

Why is a class is no longer on the website?

When our classes sell out, they are removed from the website.

Time & Location

What time is my class?

The time and date of your class will be on your receipt.

Where will my class be held?

The location of your class will be be on your Electronic Ticket and receipt.

I don't have an Electronic Ticket or a Receipt!

Will classes be cancelled in bad weather?

We will give you a minimum of 24 hour notice if your class is going to be cancelled due to snow, hurricanes, locust, or violent attacks by groundhogs.

Keep in mind that the current director of the school grew up in New England, so his definition of "inclement weather" may be a bit more extreeme than yours.

If we cancel a class due to the weather, we will issue you a gift certificate for the value of the class, which you will be able to use at your leisure.

Should I have dinner before class?

We recommend having dinner either before or after a class. Even when food is served in our classes, they are served in a tapas style.

I need directions to the School.

The School is located at 2006 Fairmount Avenue in Philadelphia, PA 19130.

From Interstate 95 North/South

1. Take Interstate 95 to 676 west towards center city.

2. Once on 676 west, exit at the Ben Franklin Parkway (museum area).

3. At stop sign turn right onto 22nd Street.

4. Proceed on 22nd Street until the fifth light which is Fairmount Avenue.

5. Turn right onto Fairmount Avenue.

6. The Wine School will be two blocks up on the right.

From the PA Turnpike and West

1. Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike and exit at Valley Forge(76 east).

2. Take 76 east towards Philadelphia and follow signs for 676 east. Exit 676 east. This is a 2 lane exit. Stay in the right lane.

3. Immediately look for the first exit on your right- 23rd Street, Ben Franklin Pkwy. Stay to the left off the exit and go to the first traffic light.

4. Turn left at the light onto 22nd street. Proceed on 22nd Street until the fifth light which is Fairmount Avenue.

5. Turn right onto Fairmount Avenue. The Wine School will be two blocks up on the right.

Public Transportation

The closest subway station is the Fairmount stop on the Broad Street Line. Click here to view the subway schedule. The school is 4 blocks west.

Gift Certificates

How do I use a gift certificate?

A gift certificate for the school is an alpha-numeric code. If you do not have such a code, you do not have a gift certificate.

On our website, select a wine class or course and click on "Add to Cart." The class will be put into your shopping cart. Click "Secure Purchase." On this page, fill in the required information. Don't forget to put your gift certificate code into the correct box. You can only use one gift certificate per order.

If your gift certificate does not work,you can email us at gift@vinology.com.

Do you mail out gift certificates?

Gift Certificates are automatically emailed to you (or to whomever you please). You will be able to print out our professionally designed certificate on your own computer.

Make sure to save the Gift Certificate Code in the email along with the instructions on how to use the Gift Certificate!

How do I purchase a gift certificate?

Should I buy a gift certificate or a wine class?

We always recommend buying a gift certificate since that allows the recipient to find a class that works for her schedule. If you do opt to purchase a wine class, make sure to pick up a Premium Ticket.
