Professional Wine Certification

Students at the Wine School of Philadelphia can earn professional certification through the National Wine School (NWS) in Californa. Along with professional certification, the National Wine School gives our students access to extensive reading material for each wine course. To opt for certification via the National Wine School, please select the Professional option during checkout.


Certification Levels

Core Wine Program

The two base levels of certification are the Wine Foundation Program and the Global Intermediate Program.


Advanced Wine Program

After completion of the Core Program, a student may enter the Advanced programs with the aim of completing the Baccalaureat Vigne et Vin or the Diploma Oenotropae. The Baccalaureat Vigne et Vin is awarded only to exemplary students who have completed a minimum of 4 sections of the Advanced Wine Program and earned a recommendation by the School’s Director. The honor carries with it the right to the post-nominal letters of BVV.


The Diploma Oenotropae

The Diploma Oenotropae is the highest award, awarded to those students who have successfully completed the Baccalureat and a Master’s Thesis. The honor carries with it the right to the post-nominal letters of DOE.
