Hey ,
I have some great news to share.
First, the backstory: a competitor sued us in federal court, claiming we should not be allowed to use the name "Philly Wine School."
Yesterday, the judge rejected their emergency bid.
There's a very Philly layer to all of this. We are an independent Philadelphia school. They are tied to a British model of wine education. And somehow, in 2026, we found ourselves defending a name Philadelphians have used for us since 2005.
But this is Philly. We've been pushing back against British claims since 1776. Some things don't change.
I won't pretend the past few months have been easy. There are things I hope to speak more openly about when the time is right. But what got us through it was you.
Your support and continued presence meant everything. Despite this lawsuit and everything that came with it, you kept signing up for sommelier courses, attending wine classes, and reminding us why this school matters.
As Philadelphia prepares to celebrate 250 years of American independence, we'll be raising a glass with you.
See you in class,
Keith Keith Wallace, Founder Wine School of Philadelphia aka Philly Wine School
P.S. If this story moves you the way it moves me, share it. Let the world know what Philadelphia stands for.
