What Class to Take?

I an interested in learning more about wine in an academic setting – with the goal of attaining a certification and preparing for the Court of Master Sommeliers Introductory Course in July.

I am not sure which course would be best for me? The Level 1 & 2 or the Levels 1-3.

I may not be able to attend the 1st class on 19 March – how large an issue is that?

Best Regards,

We would recommend signing up for the CORE (Levels 1-3) as it covers all of the basic subject areas of wine study: major varietals, regions, winemaking, blind tasting, and winemaking styles.

However, it is difficult to keep up with everyone if you must miss either the first or second class. We do allow students to make up any missed classes during the next semester.

Also, our approach to wine education is quite different from other organizations. If you having’ been to the Wine School before, I’d suggest taking a 101 or other entry-level class to get a feel for what we do and make sure it is a good fit.

Please let me know if I can help answer any other questions.
