Unable to add a gift certificate to my shopping cart

Hello,

I’ve been trying to purchase a gift certificate for a family member (for $125), but whenever I try to do so on this site (vinology.com), I’m told that my shopping cart is empty even after I’ve clicked to add the gift certificate. I’ve double checked that I followed the necessary steps, but the cart still shows that nothing has been added.

Curiously, all other purchases (like the signed book, for instance) can be added to my cart without any trouble (I tested whether the cart first needed to have something else in it for me to be able to add a gift certificate, but I still got the same error). Another member of my family tried to purchase a gift certificate from a different computer and had the same problem, so I don’t believe the issue is with my machine or that it’s an error on my part.

If you could take a look at the gift card purchasing options on the site and then let me know how to proceed, I’d appreciate it very much.

UPDATE:

You can now purchase a gift certificate without logging in right away. If you’ve purchased with us before, you will still need to login during checkout.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are working on correcting the issue. Until then, you can still purchase a gift certificate by doing the following:

  1. create (or log into) your account : https://www.vinology.com/account/

  2. purchase the gift certificate
