Job Resume

I have taken several wine tasting classes at the Wine School, and I plan to register soon for the Core Program. I have developed a fascination and passion for wine over the past 5 years. I recently took early retirement from my job as an occupational therapist in the school system (a 20 year career). I would now like to obtain a part time position in the wine industry that would be fun as well as being a learning and personal growth experience. I need to write a resume, but need some advice on format and how to present my skills as appropriate to a job for which I have no work experience. Also, what do you think would be the best type of job to start out? (I am thinking about a Tasting Room or low pressure sales) As you are an obvious expert in the field, I would appreciate any advice or suggestions you could offer me.
Thank you in advance for your help!!

Karen,

Glad to hear you are registering for the Core program. I suggest upgrading to the Professional certification when you do. We offer an hour of career guidance to our program students, which is something I think you would be interested in. I’d also suggest waiting until the end of the semester before you start submitting resumes.

Cheers,

Keith
