Core Wine Program

Dear sir or ma’am,

Do you have hours of operation outside of the class times where people can come ask questions or tour your facility? I ask because I have stopped at your facility twice and the doors have been locked (day and evening). I also called the number but it did not allow for leaving a message, so I am sending this trying to determine what to do and hoping that you may be able to advise me.
I am looking to register for the core wine program courses (full semester), however I notice that the Semester course began in October and goes through DEC 1. This program appears to be all different classes on Sundays each week as part of a planned out sequential certificate producing program.
I think the next course is this one, but it looks sold out: Core Wine Course (Winter Semester) – Sun, January 5, 2020 from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm
Online it states that it is sold out. Does the priority placement override only apply to the 52 week program?
I would also like to know if you are set up to accept the GI Bill as payment for veterans, or if you have a discount for military veterans.
I would like to take a program that leads to a sommelier certificate of some sort, but I cannot commit to a 52-week program as I am not sure if I will remain in Philadelphia another full year. I do not know yet if I will be available for the next course that begins in March and goes through May. Do you offer wait-lists? Is there any way to register for the January class (like if someone drops out) or do you advise me to register for the March class? I would like the details of what I would need to do to gain the most basic sommelier certificate that your training programs offer.

Additionally, is there an introductory basic course that you recommend I take first to help me decide if I want to take a full ‘core’ semester-long program of weekly classes?
Thanks,
Penny

Penny, your answers are below. Have a great day,

Keith

Do you have hours of operation outside of the class times where people
can come ask questions or tour your facility? I ask because I have
stopped at your facility twice and the doors have been locked (day and
evening). I also called the number but it did not allow for leaving a
message, so I am sending this trying to determine what to do and
hoping that you may be able to advise me.

The school is only open to students. This is a policy that benefits our students and teachers.

I am looking to register for the core wine program courses (full
semester), however I notice that the Semester course began in October
and goes through DEC 1. This program appears to be all different
classes on Sundays each week as part of a planned out sequential
certificate producing program.

That is correct

I think the next course is this one, but it looks sold out: Core Wine
Course (Winter Semester) – Sun, January 5, 2020 from 3:30 pm to 8:00
pm Online it states that it is sold out. Does the priority placement
override only apply to the 52 week program?

The program is sold out, the next program available is the Spring semester. The Winter semester is fully booked out.

I would also like to know if you are set up to accept the GI Bill as
payment for veterans, or if you have a discount for military veterans.

The only Wine School we know of who is part of the program is in the midwest.

I would like to take a program that leads to a sommelier certificate
of some sort, but I cannot commit to a 52-week program as I am not
sure if I will remain in Philadelphia another full year. I do not know
yet if I will be available for the next course that begins in March
and goes through May. Do you offer wait-lists?

If a spot becomes available, we post on our facebook page (phillywine). However, those spots go to people on the CORE/ADV payment plan first.

Is there any way to register for the January class (like if someone
drops out) or do you advise me to register for the March class? I
would like the details of what I would need to do to gain the most
basic sommelier certificate that your training programs offer.

Yes, you should probably sign up for the Spring semester of the Core Program: https://www.vinology.com/class/wine-course/2020-03-08/

Additionally, is there an introductory basic course that you recommend
I take first to help me decide if I want to take a full ‘core’
semester-long program of weekly classes?

You could take an intro class (https://www.vinology.com/wine-101/) but the truth is that nothing compares to the Core experience.
