Certification and Results from Winter Quarter

Phil,

I completed my Foundations, Intermediate and Blind Tasting exams on Sunday, March 13, more than seven weeks ago. Since then I have not received any communication from you regarding results or my certification. I posted a message previously, and the answer was along the lines of “we’ll get back to you; it takes time.” My account previously indicated that I had completed the courses and passed the exams, but now there is nothing showing at all in my account.

My employer is eager to announce my certification and it is something that will help me professionally. However, we are very credentials sensitive and I don’t even know exactly what the certification I receive is officially called, nor do I have “proof” of certification.

Any guidance you can offer would certainly be appreciated. Happy to discuss with you on the phone or in a private email string if you prefer. Thank you.

Did you get the notification that you have now completed the semester? It went out on Friday once the glitch was fixed.

Thank you for reaching out and posting this. We understand your frustration and apologize for the confusion.

The truth is we have been communicating with our website manager for several weeks to figure out what is going on. Specifically, why students accounts indicate the course requirements are incomplete, when I have submitted all the grades and it shows a successful completion of the course on my end. Some students are also not receiving the email that goes out upon completion of the course with a link to a copy of the certificate and verification of their successful completion of the course. Because it is not happening to everyone uniformly, it’s been a difficult problem to diagnose.

As a result, this week the administrators have taken our account offline. That means that no one can access the system, including us, until the problem is resolved. This has never happened before; rest assured that we are also very disappointed.

I apologize again. We regret that our students have had this experience with us. When they fix the problem we will be contacting everyone who may have been affected and ensure all certificates are processed asap.
