Good Afternoon,

I recently registered with the Philadelphia School of Wine in the hopes of attending classes in the near future. I am looking to become a certified Sommelier, and hopefully an Advanced Sommelier. I have been doing research on the Court of Master Sommeliers and they offer certification as well.

My question is: how do the certifications earned with the Philadelphia School of Wine compare to the Court of Master Sommeliers? Are they equivalent with each other? Would I need to complete certification with the Court in the future and vice versa with the School?

Any clarification would be much appreciated!

Thank you & Cheers!

I don’t see your name listed in any of our courses. What class are you registered in? As for information regarding programs, there are great resources out there. Personally, I recommend SOMM (https://www.somm.us) for all research regarding programs and certifications. They are far more fair and balanced then I would be.
