Port & Beyond: Luxury Dessert Wines

From fortified wines like Port and Banyuls to late-harvest bottlings such as Sauternes and Tokaji to the amazing passito styles of Vin Santo del Chianti: what could be more decadent than a two-hour class focused on dessert wines? Some of our favorite and rare sweet wines in the world will be poured!
Although we have taught hundreds of wine classes, this is the first to focus on luxury-level sweet wines. The great sweet wines have all too often been out of reach for most wine lovers, as the great sauternes and Trockenbeerenauslesen are prohibitively expensive. In this lucid, delightful class, we uncork an array of wines of varying characteristics and qualities from across the world. Weaving geography, history, and ( a touch of) chemistry with personal anecdotes, this class opens up a world of new wines to explore. Oenophiles intrigued by the sweeter end of the spectrum or who want to explore this world will find this an enticing wine-tasting class.
