Total Wine & More is America‘s Wine Superstore®—the country‘s largest independent retailer of fine wine. We started in 1991 when brothers David and Robert Trone opened two wine stores in Delaware. We currently operate over 100 superstores across 15 states and are growing rapidly.

We are committed to having the best wine selection with an emphasis on fine wines. This differentiates us from many retailers in the United States who specialize in one geographic area or price category. Our typical store carries more than 8,000 different wines from every wine-producing region in the world.

In addition to a world-class selection of fine wines, the typical Total Wine & More also carries more than 2,500 beers, from America‘s most popular beers to hard-to-find microbrews and imports, and more than 3,000 different spirits from every price range and category.

Total Wine & More is committed to having the lowest prices on wine, spirits and beer every day. Our tremendous buying power and special relationships with producers, importers, and wholesalers offers us considerable savings, which we pass on to our customers.

Our strength is our people. We have over 2,000 associates, including 600 wine professionals, who must demonstrate comprehensive wine knowledge before they are invited to join our team. After coming on board, all of our wine team members undergo an extensive initial training program, participate in weekly team wine tastings, attend monthly wine-producer seminars, and many travel to prestigious winegrowing regions on company-sponsored trips.

We believe that an educated consumer is our best customer. We want to demystify the wine-buying experience for our customers so they will feel confident in choosing the bottle of wine that is perfect for them.

Whether you are new to the world of wine or a great wine enthusiast, we are dedicated to bringing you The Total Wine Experience™.

Jan Czerw, our grandfather, immigrated from Mislsi, Poland. He was employed as butcher.
Jan would make kielbasa for his family and friends in the basement of his home. Word quickly spread that Jan was making the kielbasa and demand grew for his product. Jan decided to open his business.
In 1938, Jan opened Philadelphia Provisions. He saved money by converting a horse stable into a shop. Jan built the brick oven smoke houses himself. Czerw’s Kielbasa still stands in that original spot, using the same brick ovens built almost 70 years ago.
Jan passed the store to his two sons: Thaddeus (known to everyone as Ted; our father), and Konstant. Konstant retired and handed sole operation of the business to Ted.
On Ted’s retirement and eventual passing away, ownership of the business was passed on to his sons: Dennis and Jeffrey, and John.
Since the start of the business, it has always been family operated and oriented. Our aunt worked for both our grandfather and father, in the retail store. At young ages, we were all involved in the business in some way; such as carrying bags out for customers and cleaning out the smokehouses. Our mother still comes in every day to “give a
hand”. She continues to make golabki (stuffed cabbage) for the store, which always sells out.
Czerw’s still uses the same recipes for kielbasa that were created over 70 years ago by our grandfather. We continue to smoke our products using only quality, real fruit woods; just as it was done in 1938.

Tacconelli's Pizza.JPG

In 1918 Giovanni Tacconelli came to Philadelphia from Italy. After a few years working as a laborer, he decided to do what he had done in his native Italy. “Bake Bread”. The best and only way, he said, was to bake it in a brick oven. So along with a few of his friends he built his 20′ by 20′ brick oven. The bread business went well until the outbreak of World War II when all of his sons who had helped him in the business were drafted into military service. Having no one to help and since the bread business was so very time consuming, he stopped baking bread.

In 1946, still having the brick oven, Giovanni pondered over what to do with it since everyone had come home from the War and had different careers in mind. He decided to make tomato pies, something that his mother had taught him to do many years before. They were and still are tomato pies to our family consisting of fresh made dough, little cheese and a lot of sauce cooked in our brick oven to give it a crisp light taste.

In 1992, we realized that our oven, which had given us 72 years of service, needed a face-lift. We never thought that was supposed to be a 3 month “project” would turn out to be a 7 month “nightmare”. Thanks to your loyal patronage The Tacconelli family, now in its 5th generation, is still baking tomato pies the Giovanni Tacconelli way.

Please keep in mind we are a one-man, one-oven operation. Waiting time may vary. Please be assured each pie is made fresh and to order.

Located in the historic Fishtown section of Philadelphia, Kraftwork was designed to reflect the past and present neighborhood. Through thoughtful design, food, libation and service, we endeavor to honor the roots of Fishtown; as an industrial hub of Philadelphia and the resilient neighborhood community built around those industries that sustains to this day.

Philadelphia sculptor Andrew Jevremovic designed and constructed Kraftwork, exercising a sculptor’s concerns and utilizing unconventional building methods and materials to create a unique space.

This craftsmanship is the foundation of our philosophy as a business. We endeavor to procure the finest craft beer offerings from around the globe, specialty cocktails and small batch wines. Food is the common block in community – and Chef Brian Lofink and his team have created an eclectic American menu with choices from small plates and shared boards to delicious entrée salads and sandwiches.

The Main Line welcomes another Indian restaurant, the Fishtown favorite known as Ekta Indian Cuisine.

The Main Line has never really been known as a hotbed for Indian food. But that’s beginning to change, thanks to new spots like Tiffin, Saffron and, now, Ekta. Chef/owner Raju Bhattarai already has a successful Ekta location in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood, so the transition to Bryn Mawr is bound to be a smooth one.

It’s all about flavor at this casual and inviting spot, where the luscious aromas of cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, curry, cayenne and coriander billow from steaming copper bowls. While great on their own, the vegetarian selections also make delicious sides for a tender lamb or chicken dish. Creamy and mild, the saag aur paneer—homemade cottage cheese cubes cooked with spinach—pairs nicely with the spicy, fragrant Kadai chicken, its creamy tomato base teeming with green peppers, onions, green chili and ginger. Or order hot naan fresh out of the charcoal-fired tandoor oven, and use it to scoop up mouthfuls of dal makhani—lentils cooked with tomato, ginger and onion. (When it comes to naan, take your pick: There are 12 types at Ekta.)

Don’t miss your chance to try a traditional Indian lassi, a yogurt-based drink often made with fruit. Sweet and tart, Ekta’s mango version is a cool accompaniment to the spicier dishes. Whatever you do, be sure to bring a bottle of wine or a few bottles of beer, and get ready to share. There’s plenty of flavor to go around at Ekta.
