The Wine Foundation Program

The Wine School of Philadelphia offers three tiers of wine courses. The first program, and the core of our academic traditions, is the Wine Foundation Program.

Our Sommelier-Instructors are key to our philosophy of a smart-but-fun wine program. Each instructor is hand-picked for their knowledge, personal achievements and charisma. Each is then individually trained by Keith Wallace for a year prior to being allowed to teach any wine program.

The Foundation program itself is a revolution in how wine is taught. It is an interactive program designed around the groundbreaking work done at the Monell Institute and the University of California at Davis.

The fusion of the fun and the academic programs are unique in that they train both the palate and the mind. In our Foundation program, we can turn even the rank beginner into a high-level wine taster, often out-performing wine professionals.
